Today, Black/Bass/Metal act LUNA 13 partner with Decibel Magazine to release the video for single “Sacrificial Lamb.” The provocative art piece is not for the faint of heart and is in direct response to the chaotic and unruly events of the past year. As the band’s musical maestro Dr. Luna says to the magazine, “This video represents the horrors of 2020 from a failed response to a pandemic (i.e. the “Sacrificial Lambs”) to the crazy conspiracies that ravaged the United States. This song is also [vocalist] Lilith Bathory’s favorite song on the God.Dis release, and we had sinister fun turning 2020 into a horror video.” Decibel says of the video and track: “Driven by bright synths, heavy bass and a drum machine beat and rounded out by growled vocals, LUNA 13 create a soundtrack for their own personal horror film—which is exactly what they do with the visual accompaniment.” “Sacrificial Lamb” hails from the dark lord duo’s latest album God.Dis that was released in November through new label, COP International (the home of Stabbing Westward, Deathline International and Suicide Queen). Thematically, songs on God.Dis cover the grounds of witchcraft, nuclear war and modern conspiracy theories. It’s a release that Sonic Perspectives deems “feels both simultaneously ethereal and omnipresent.” One of the LUNA 13’s curious hallmarks is crossing over from electronica to black metal and industrial rock without the use of any guitars, which has some hailing the act as “the bass music scene’s Slayer.” Dr. Luna creates the voluminous sound solely with synthesizers and distortion pedals by wrapping heavy distortion around sub-bass. Frontwoman Lilith Bathory further brings the spectacle with brutal vocals and trance-inducing dance moves behind her devil horns. With a gripping aesthetic paying homage to domination and the occult and a strong live show heavy on theatrics, LUNA13 has become a favorite attraction in hallowed Los Angeles where they hail from as well as a memorable opening act for death metal, industrial and electronica projects including Possessed, Insane Clown Posse, Doyle, Skin Lab, Insomnium, Skold and Mushroomhead.
