Amorphis Release Live Album

amorphus

Exactly thirty years after its original release, Finnish metal icons AMORPHIS are proud to celebrate the anniversary of their milestone release Tales From The Thousand Lakes with a unique live edition of the record, which represents an essential collector’s item for every AMORPHIS connoisseur. The magic of this work, grandly transferred onto the stage of Helsinki, Finland’s Tavastia Club, displays the band in their full glory: powerful, passionate, and unforgettable.

With “Into Hiding,” a third chapter of this captivating live testimony has been launched to accompany the release.

“‘Into Hiding’ had a working title, ‘Rintamäkeläiset,’ as its opening melody reminds one of an old Finnish TV series,” recalls lead guitarist Esa Holopainen. “The song itself became very popular and is still a crucial part of our setlist. No wonder as it’s a great mixture of an old Finnish TV score, death metal, Arabic vibes, and Black Sabbath. And you can’t go wrong with a song that includes a bass guitar solo!”

“…a simple celebration of one of the band’s most important records. Significantly, it also sounds vast and immaculate, outstripping these songs’ original studio incarnations on every level. In an era when live albums are often inessential stopgaps, this anniversary extravaganza feels more momentous and worthwhile than most.” — Blabbermouth

“If AMORPHIS seemed to be wet behind the ears to you thirty years ago, this powerfully produced revival will prove all sceptics at the time wrong.” — Metal Hammer Germany

“What an enormously intensive performance in honor of this important record!” — Rock Hard Italy

“…a successful, greatly raw sounding re-recording of a melodic death classic, lifted to new heights by vocalist Tomi Joutsen, who makes this opus more than just a simple addition to each and every AMORPHIS collection.” — Powermetal.de

AMORPHIS take over the stage masterfully as usual, and the high-quality production on top makes this release a must-have for every fan of the band.” — Aardschok

“Thirty-year old songs sound brand new, and if the actual record wouldn’t have been released back in the days, this output would be contemporary. This is AMORPHIS on their still ongoing career peak delivering an impressive performance…” — Time-For-Metal

“In 1994, AMORPHIS released their sophomore album, which would turn out to be their tour de force and one of the seminal albums of the ’90s…Three decades later they stand up exceptionally well…” — Heavy Music HQ
