German prog-metal trio THE HIRSCH EFFEKT unleash their newest single “Urian”,

which sets out to paint a new, gloomy portrayal of present day humans’ togetherness and opposition. Being the first song after their last endeavors, ‘Gregaer’ EP (2021) and ‘Solitaer’ EP (2022), its character hints at a grimmer path for the listener and musically embarks an unexpectedly darker road for the band, when compared to their previous releases.

After charting at #21 on the German album charts, and formidable show-offs at Wacken Open Air, Full Force Festival, ArcTanGent and as recent headliners at the renowned Euroblast Festival, THE HIRSCH EFFECKT gives an impressive first taste of their new material with the single “Urian”.

Bass player Ilja John Lappin comments:

“We’re glad to release our new single ‘Urian’, which presents our first song in 2023 and the first since our latest release ‘Solitaer’ EP (2022). This time we dove musically and thematically a little deeper into grimmer abysses as well as into the madness of many. We were able to return – albeit a little haunted – with a song that represents and combines the classic HIRSCH EFFEKT elements.”

THE HIRSCH EFFEKT, consisting of multi-instrumentalists Nils Wittrock (i.a. vocals, guitars), Ilja John Lappin (i.a. bass, vocals) and Moritz Schmidt (drums), plays an extremely variable style of music, as well as combines various elements to the utter peak of sophistication.

The end result is nothing less than a homogenous and enormous sound monster, nearly beating your speakers to death. Although the very first impressions coalesce into an epic, aggressive, and sinister sound, there is a specific personal touch and frankness in the German lyrics. They signify authenticity and closeness and stand out as a counterpart to the musical periphery.

Alongside the single release THE HIRSCH EFFEKT announced
