Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 – Nu-Core sextet Tallah, one of modern metal’s most explosive and unbridled forces, have today dropped brand new track “Vanilla Paste”. The 6-minute-plus opus weaves an intricate and gritty journey, simultaneously paying homage to the band’s nu metal influences whilst further cementing the fact that there is not a band on the planet that sounds as fresh and uniquely unhinged as Tallah. The track features a plethora of high profile guest appearances including AJ Channer (Fire From The Gods), Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin) and Garett Hood (Guerrilla Warfare) and is accompanied by an appropriately sinister official music video. Stream “Vanilla Paste” here and watch the music video here or by clicking the image below.

Speaking on his band’s latest creative offering, inimitable frontman, Justin Bonitz shares

“The song is basically about having bullshit forced down your throat, whether it is lies from the media, unimportant drama, abuse from a significant other, etc. “Vanilla paste” represents something you a digesting, which has no nutritional value or substance. It is just… flavoured paste. It tastes sweet and stimulates your senses, but it is not actually doing anything for you. You cannot survive off of nothing, and that is what that crap is… nothing. In this song, we have people who have been fed this “nothing” their whole lives, and they are tired of it. They are ready to make a change.”

Fire From The Gods vocalist, Aj Channer adds :

“Alex Snowden of Tallah and FFTG go way back to our first “signed” tour when she was in dollskin. I truly respect her evolution as a guitar player. When they asked me to be on this track I had to hop on. I respect what they are doing as a band. Looking forward to see how they fit into the new heavy sound. Peace.”

Garett Hood of Guerrilla Warfare comments

“Was flattered to be asked to hop on the track by cooper, he sent me the instrumental and I listened about 10 seconds in before sending back, “YEP. Lemme spit somethin on this FOR SURE.”
Honoured to be a part of such a wild track with some incredibly talented people. Side note: Tallah are some of the sweetest and most impressive live performing musicians I’ve met to date, go see em on tour.”

Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin adds

“I’m happy to be part of a song from a band who’s really pushing the boundaries of this genre. It’s truly a breath of fresh air.”

Having been locked down for the best part of 18 months unable to perform live, Tallah are a caged animal ready to be set loose on America. With their notoriously deranged live shows they have secured a host of major USA Festivals for Summer 2021 including Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock Fest and Welcome To Rockville. Tallah will also be opening for Avatar on their 33 date North American tour in Sept / Oct 2021.

Tallah are currently in the studio recording their new album due to be released 2022 with producer Josh Schroeder

ABOUT TALLAH

Emerging from Pennsylvania in 2018 and combining the percussive force of second-generation drummer Max Portnoy with the pure, war-torn fury of vocalist and YouTube sensation Justin Bonitz, nu-core quartet Tallah formed with a singular and unifying mission.

Intent on revamping the much-loved sound of popular nu-metal sensations of the early 2000s, Tallah draw influence from the likes of Slipknot, Korn and Linkin Park while simultaneously fusing it with a modernized, hardcore edge as displayed by current sensations Code Orange, Vein, Candy and Fire From The Gods.

Having followed Justin’s popular YouTube channel for some time – which boasts How to Scream (10 Different Techniques”, perhaps the most popular scream tutorial at approximately 3m views – Max approached Justin to join a new project with guitarist Derrick Schneider and bassist Andrew Cooper, both of whom Max had formed previous relationships with on the Philadelphia music scene.

Tallah unleashed their debut EP, ‘Noone Should Read This’, on the world in 2018. It was met with critical acclaim and saw Max receive the Modern Drummer Award for “Best Up and Coming Drummer 2019”. Tallah subsequently signed with Earache Records and released their full-length debut ‘Matriphagy’ in October of 2020. The album expanded upon the concept outlined in ‘No One Should Read This’, armed with a disturbingly graphic tale that is to be taken both literally and metaphorically. Set to a pleasurably harrowing backdrop of brutally heavy musicianship, ‘Matriphagy’ is an unapologetic love-letter to chaos, and the sickening twist of the macabre.

The album earned the band mass critical acclaim in the press. They have been described as “Unnerving, emotive, anxious and disturbing” by Loudwire, “Fresh in an urgent way with an extra jolt of modern anxiety” by Kerrang!, “Creepy, hyper kinetic and unhinged” by Revolver and “Monstrously heavy” by Metal Hammer who also claim “When we say the most exciting sound of 2020 is nu metal, we’re not kidding, and Tallah are leading the charge”.

To celebrate the release of ‘Matriphagy’, Tallah performed the album in full live from Willow Glen State Penitentiary, also known as ‘Prison of the Dead.’ The performance solidified Tallah’s reputations as one of the most exciting new bands in metal and was broadcast by the notorious hate5six famed for his work in the hardcore scene helping break bands like Code Orange. The live show premiered on Knotfest.com and was also the first introduction to the fans to the two new band members Alex Snowden (guitar) and Mewzen (DJ).

Since its release, the band have clocked up 6.5 million Spotify streams and 4 million YouTube views on ‘Matriphagy’. They have over 200,000 monthly Spotify listeners and have had tracks added to 25 Spotify editorial playlists.
