Festival Appearances & UK Tour

with Annisokay Confirmed

After a 5 year Hiatus, British metalcore act SHIELDS returns with their brand new single, “Bury Me”, accompanied by a new music video, just in time for them to take the stage again at Burn It Down Festival UK on Saturday!

Forming in 2012, SHIELDS rapidly made a singular impression on the metal community with their track, “I Just Feel Hate”, which was followed by the EP ‘GUILT’. 2018 saw the release of SHIELDS’ debut album, ‘Life In Exile’, which included the singles “Black Dog” and “It’s Killing Me”.

Throughout the band’s career, they have toured with bands such as Ice Nine Kills, Born Of Osiris, Chelsea Grin, Veil Of Maya, Escape the Fate and Loathe.

“The whole subject matter for the song ‘Bury Me’ stems from the phrase ‘nocturnal pollution’ – a disrupted form of sleep that is informed by internal and external forces alike”, comments guitarist Sam Kubrick. “The songs lyrics were written from the perspective of a person who is suffering from experiences such as night terrors and insomnia, and as a result dreads the torture of going to bed every night. When I first started the music for ‘Bury Me’, I had one pure intention which was to write the most quintessentially SHIELDS track I possibly could. It ended up becoming heavily influence by our previous single ‘Jordan’ but as if it was written for our first album ‘Life In Exile'”.
