At this point, most people are familiar with the fires ravaging Los Angeles right now. Los Angeles is the home to many people in the entertainment industry including musicians.
According to the Los Angeles Times, The Palisades fire has burned 23,713 acres and was 11% contained as of Sunday morning January 12, 2025, while the Eaton fire in the Altadena area has charred 14,117 acres and is 27% contained, officials said. The Hurst fire in Sylmar burned nearly 800 acres and was 89% contained.
On a post on their Instagram page, charity MusiCares is asking for donations to help musicians in need. MusiCares “helps the humans behind music because music gives so much to the world,” according to their website.
Their post on instagram reads:
As we learn about the magnitude of the damage created by the Los Angeles wildfires, @musicares is here to help the music community in affected areas recover. ❤️
Please encourage your music industry colleagues and friends that have been impacted by the fires to contact MusiCares, now and in the weeks to come.
