George Thorogood & The Destroyers 8-14-2024 in Casper WY

George Thorogood & the Destroyers made a stop in Casper, Wyoming at The Ford Wyoming Center on August 14 to bring their style of boogie and blues that only they can do.

In celebration of their 50th year of bringing music to the world. They came with great energy, smiles and a whole lot of rockin’. The tour is called “Bad all over the world, 50 years of Rock.”

The opening act, Joe Waters, who was awarded the 2024 International Blues Challenge Solo/Duo Champion, opened with a rendition of “Amazing Grace”, performed on his harmonica.

He transitioned into the interlude, “Palisade” and then performed “The Oranges are Hard” playing guitar, mouth harp, and singing. He finished his set with “My Blues are Piling Up”, a song he co-wrote with his Dad.

The crowd waited in anticipation for George and the band to come out and get the party started. As soon as they entered the stage the crowd went nuts. It had been almost 35 years since he and the band had graced the stage in Casper.

The show started with a fitting beginning with the tune “Rock Party,” followed by the Bo Didley cover that everyone loves called “Who Do You Love?”.

By then people were on their feet with their beers in the air singing along with every word.

They went on to play “I Drink Alone”, “Cocaine Blues”, and ‘Get a Haircut”.

The band finished the show with “Bad to the Bone”, the song that everyone was waiting to hear. The set was full of reminiscing on easier more fun times. When celebrating with friends, good whiskey, and some good old rock and roll and boogie blues could pretty much cure everything.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers are on tour through October of 2024.
