When it comes to thrash metal there are the four, the big four. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax make up the fathers of thrash metal. When it comes to bass players there is one that stands out above the others, David Ellefson of Megadeth. His bass licks are essential in Megadeth classics like “Peace Sell” and “Symphony of Destruction.” David just released his third book called More Life With Deth. If that weren’t enough he also released a solo album called Sleeping Giants. Both releases highlight his passion for music and life. Brutal Planet Magazine caught up with David and his partner Thom Hazaert. We talked about a number of different subjects including growing up in Minnesota, Dave Mustaine, and of course his new book and album. Check out the interview below:
