Disturbed’s David Draiman Responds To Ye (aka Kanye West)

Ye & David Draiman

Rapper and Fashion mogul Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) stirred a lot of controversy in recent years. Ye recently took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal to apologize for his actions. In an open letter: “to those I hurt”, he claims the comments were caused by bipolar disorder, itself caused by brain injuries incurred from a serious car accident.

“It makes you blind, but convinced you have insight. You feel powerful, certain, unstoppable,” he wrote. “I lost touch with reality. Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem. I said and did things I deeply regret … I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”

Enter Disturbed’s David Draiman, who took to Twitter X to thank Ye but also let him know that his feelings are still hurt and that a simple apology is not going to be enough.

Draiman has been very vocal about his support for the war in Gaza and was even recently photographed signing bombs to be dropped during the conflict. Several commentors had their own takes on David’s plea to Kanye to go even further in his apology.
