The Pretty Maids: Maid In Japan – Future World Live 30th Anniversary

The Pretty Maids are celebrating 30 years of rocking the world. To commemorate that achievement they will be releasing Maid In Japan – Future World Live 30th Anniversary. It will be available on April 10, 2020 and will include CD/DVD and Blu Ray packages.  If you are not familiar with The Pretty Maids, I have to ask you where have you been?  Led by the amazing vocals of Ronnie Atkins, they have a huge following in Europe and most of the world. They have been influential to many of rock and metal’s biggest bands today.

The video itself was recorded in Tokyo, Japan where they played the Future World album on two nights in November of 2018. When the video starts you realize this is not just a few handheld cameras and a tape machine.  This is an amazing production that sets you in with the crowd, on the stage, and at the mixing board.  The sound quality of the recording is also spot on.  Crank it up and you will find yourself transported to Tokyo for the price of a DVD.

The concert highlights one of The Pretty Maid’s most successful albums, Future World.  It was released in 1987 and was monumental for the band worldwide and even broke the charts in the United States.  Some of the iconic songs from that album include “Future World,” “Loud and Proud,” “We Came to Rock,” and “Needles in the Dark.”

A couple of things that stand out watching and listening to “Maid In Japan – Future World Live 30th Anniversary.”  First and foremost, how well Ronnie has taken care of his voice, and how he still belts out those notes as good if not better than he did in 1987.  Next how well these songs hold up and stand the test of time.  Some artists and songs just don’t sound the same 30 years later and can seem a bit dated and that’s not the case here. The album sounds as if it could have been written and recorded in 2020.

For the die-hard Pretty Maid fans, the DVD/Blue Ray includes Interviews with Ronnie Atkins, Ken Hammer, Chris Laney, Rene Shades.  For those who are passive fans or are not sure if this is for you, watch some of the clips released and you will have it on pre-order in no time.

Shows and tours continue to be postponed or canceled during these trying times. That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the best 2020 has to offer.  The Pretty Maids have given you a safe alternative to the concert experience.  Pre-order and pick up Maid In Japan – Future World Live 30th Anniversary on April 10, 2020, via Frontier Records.
