GHOST SPIRIT RELEASE NEW SONG “KILL THE STRIFE”, FIRST NEW SINGLE MUSIC SINCE 2019

Ghost Spirit, the L.A. underground hardcore outfit, whose music Kerrang!said “mixes parts of black metal’s tremolo-picked franticness and hardcore’s insistence,” return with their first new music in four years, releasing “Kill the Strife” (https://blueswan.lnk.to/KillTheStrife), and its accompanying video, today via Blue Swan Records/Rise Records.

“’Kill the Strife’ is a song about elevating yourself from darkness and finding strength within our punk/hardcore community,” says vocalist Alex Bigman of the Will Putney (Every Time I Die, Knocked Loose) mixed and Phil Odom (Code Orange, Portrayal of Guilt) engineered track. “It was a labor of love and it’s dedicated to everyone that’s been with us since we started the band. We’re excited to share this new sonic evolution of Ghost Spirit and can’t wait for what the future holds!”

Ghost Spirit released Hourglass in 2019, with the 8-song album landing on Rolling Stone’s staff’s personal best of lists, and being praised by outlets for capturing the band’s DIY spirit. Idioteq said the collection is “sonically and thematically immense,” while Sputnik Music noted the band’s ability to juxtapose “tenderness and honesty” with “frantic guitar work… and the pained screams of Alex Bigman.”

The band is currently writing a new album with additional details to be revealed soon.

Ghost Spirit is Alex Bigman (vocals), Taylor Jewell (drums), Niko Zaglaras (guitar) and Evan Henkel (bass).
