Michael Angelo Batio is set to release his latest album called More Machine Than Man on June 12, 2020, via Rat Pak Records. The album is instrumental and Michael has added some guest musicians for different tracks including Chris Adler, (ex Lamb of God), renowned bassist Victor Wooten, and guitar virtuoso Andrea Martongelli.
Brutal Planet Magazine talked with Michael about the new album as well as some of his past projects. The interview can be heard below as well as “The Badlands,” a track from the More Machine than Man.
Michael Angelo is such a nice person and his weekly facebook live broadcasts are full of great lessons/tips along with his fascinating stories and his non-stop humour. He should really have his own TV show, and it has to be said that he is still the best guitarist out there – incredible speed, precision and accuracy. This track and the pre-released title number are really good. Michael says that it is ‘stripped down’ but this is only in instrumentation – it’s complex, full-bodied music with amazing rhythm and time signatures. I can’t wait for the CD to arrive 🙂
