March 9, 2022, Brooklyn – A Deer A Horse have released a second single from their forthcoming album, Grind (April 8, Bitter Records) with today’s release of “Panic” (https://youtu.be/En3CKg9Ejls) “‘Panic’ examines the relationship between how we feel and how we react to those feelings,” says the band. “There’s pain, but then there’s the fear of pain. Fear often wins out as the most potent feeling, and fear of failure in particular prevents us from trying, experimenting, and growing. The refrain ‘pleasure and the thought of pleasure are the same’ offers an alternative experience.” The Brooklyn-based band kick off their U.S. tour on March 17 in Philadelphia, the full list of dates are: March 17 Philadelphia, PA Dumpster Out Back March 19 Wilmington, DE Oddity Bar March 25 Boston, MA O’Briens April 1 Providence, RI Dusk April 8 Brooklyn, NY TV Eye (Record release show) April 20 Washington, DC Pie Shop April 21 Raleigh, NC Pourhouse April 22 Asheville, NC Static Age April 24 Atlanta, GA Boggs Social and Supply April 25 Birmingham, AL The Nick April 26 New Orleans, LA Saturn Bar April 28 San Antonio, TX Mission April 29 Austin, TX Hole in the Wall April 30 Dallas, TX Three Links May 1 Denton, TX Rubber Gloves May 3 Kansas City, MO Farewell Transmission May 4 Des Moines, IA Lefty’s May 5 Omaha, NE The Sydney May 6 Minneapolis, MN Mortimers May 7 Chicago, IL Burlington Bar May 9 Indianapolis, IN Healer * May 10 Louisville, KY Flamingo Lounge * May 11 Cincinnati, OH MOTR * May 12 Columbus, OH Café Bourbon St * May 13 Detroit, MI Loving Touch * May 14 Dayton, OH Dayton Music Festival * *- w/Lung Album pre-orders are available now via Bandcamp. Grind was produced by Jamie Uertz (Gojira, Anthrax) and A Deer A Horse, with the band recording the nine-song album at Sylvia Massy’s (Tool, System of a Down, Johnny Cash) Ashland, Ore. studio. “The meat and potatoes of what you hear on Grind is the sound of us trying to capture our live energy,” drummer Dylan Teggart adds. “Each take was slightly different in terms of feel, tempo, and orchestrations, but the energy we wanted to capture—the primal scream of a band trying to make something of themselves—is there.” | ||
