Helloween & Beast in Black at The Depot in Salt Lake City on April 25, 2026

It was a chilly night in Salt Lake City which is no surprise for a late April evening but it was a hot night at The Depot as Helloween brought their epic tour to town with Beast in Black.
Beast in black opened the evening with “Power of the Beast.” A perfect song to start out an epic evening.  The set quickly jumped into “Hardcore.”  Which then led into “Sweet True Lies,” a song that got the crowd going for the rest of the set.  As an opening act they brought some of their best songs but not enough of them.  It was amazing to hear them as they blasted through their set.  Singer Yannis Papadopoulos was firing on all cylinder as he tore up their set.  For those Beast in Black fans don’t worry as you do get to hear “Blind and Frozen” as well as “Die By The Blade.”  The only disappointing part of the show was missing spot that would normally be filled by Anton Kabanen.  His sound and presence was missed at the lead guitar but filling his shoes was Daniel Freyberg who did an excellent job filling the shoes of Anton.

Up next was the masters of metal, Helloween.  As they took to the stage, one had to wonder what songs they would bring for all of us to hear.  A stage that was filled some of the best musician on the planet.  The band broke into “March of time” with both Michael Kiske and Andi Deris on vocals.  The show continued with all the hits from “This is Tokyo” to “Helloween.”  The show was amazing as both Kiske and Deris sang along with Kai Hansen, who pounded out some of the most amazing guitar riffs, along with singing and along side two of the greatest singers that the genre has ever experienced.  As mentioned, “This Is Tokyo” was paired right in front of “We Burn.” A song that sounded amazing live.  The show continued with both singers singing and the rest of the band tearing through the setlist.  As the show come to an end and “Dr. Stein” came to a close it was history that opened up for all the fans.  It was time to visit all the albums that the band has put out as well as all the videos made by the band.  It was a night that will remain in my head forever as the concert came to a close.  Go and have a piece of history and see this show before it is gone forever.
