Nov. 3, 2021, Phoenix – Puscifer, who recently announced the Nov. 12 debut of Puscifer TV, an online repository featuring on-demand purchases/rentals of previously unreleased concert films and rarities, have announced the addition of the previously unreleased film: “Maynard James Keenan: A Curmudgeon’s Guide to Divine Collisions and Pythagorean Oenology” (trailer: https://youtu.be/diz_pwHT-C8). The one-on-one conversation with Keenan finds the musician/vintner in New York City discussing the New York Times Best Seller, “A Perfect Union of Contrary Things.” Moderated by legendary radio producer Roxy Myzal, the hour-plus conversation covers all facets of Keenan’s life. The additional title joins the previously announced Puscifer TV releases arriving on Nov. 12 (with pre-orders available now via Puscifer.com): “Existential Reckoning: Live at Arcosanti,” “Billy D and The Hall of Feathered Serpents Featuring Money $hot by Puscifer,” and “What Is… Puscifer.” An accompanying capsule collection featuring exclusive merch items is also available via the band’s website. · “Maynard James Keenan: A Curmudgeon’s Guide to Divine Collisions and Pythagorean Oenology” – Keenan’s biography, “A Perfect Union of Contrary Things,” added New York Times Bestseller to his already impressive list of accomplishments. In this film, Keenan sits down with longtime radio producer/music director Roxy Myzal to discuss the 2016 book that traces his journey from childhood, through the military, the beginnings of his music career and his mission to shine a spotlight on Arizona winemaking. The film is accompanied by the debut of Puscifer’s video for “Galileo.”
· “Existential Reckoning: Live at Arcosanti” – The record-breaking streaming event finds Puscifer performing in the heart of the Arizona desert on the eve of the release of their fourth-full length album, Existential Reckoning. Arcosanti was described by Architectural Digest as a “utopian metropolis in the Arizona desert” that “looks like the sublime set of a big-budget sci-fi movie.” A location that’s both inspirational and bewitching, as Arizona itself often is. The 48th state has played a silent, yet meaningful, partner to the musical troupe, with its vistas and deserts often appearing in the band’s music videos, as concert backdrops and as the subject of numerous lyrics.
· “Billy D and The Hall of Feathered Serpents featuring Money $hot by Puscifer” – The Spring 2021 streaming event opens with Billy D trudging through the Arizona desert in what has been referred to as the Bermuda Triangle of the Southwest. A cinematic prequel to “Existential Reckoning: Live at Arcosanti,” the film finds Puscifer reprising the Luchador-infused performances surrounding their 2016 album, Money $hot. The accompanying soundtrack arrives simultaneously via the various digital service providers.
· “What Is… Puscifer” with bonus “8-Ball Bail Bonds” mockumentary – A limited-edition DVD release from 2013, the two-hour sketch comedy show-meets-concert film builds upon and punctuates the multimedia format of the band’s live performances with skits from an array of Puscifer characters including Billy D, Hildy and Major Douche interwoven into performance footage from the band.
About Puscifer Born somewhere in the Arizona desert, Puscifer is an electro-rock band, multimedia experience, traveling circus, and alien abduction survivors. The group’s catalog consists of four full-length studio albums—“V” is for Vaxxna [2007], Conditions of My Parole [2011], Money $hot [2015], and Existential Reckoning (2020) – in addition to a series of EPs and remixes. Beyond the core trio of Maynard James Keenan [vocals], Mat Mitchell [guitar, production], and Carina Round [vocals, songwriting], the group’s ever-evolving ecosystem encompasses Greg Edwards (bass, guitar, keys), Gunnar Olsen (drums), as well as a cast of characters such as Billy D and his wife Hildy Berger, Major Douche, Special Agent Dick Merkin, and many more. Meanwhile, the moniker’s origins can be traced to a 1995 episode of the HBO classic Mr. Show where Keenan first utilized the name “Puscifer.” In addition to tallying tens of millions of streams and views, they’ve piqued the curiosity of press. Entertainment Weekly christened them, “Exceptionally groovy,” and Revolver fittingly described them as “indescribable.” Renowned for an immersive live show, the group’s performances blur the lines between concert and theater, traversing the dusty American Southwest with Billy D and Hildy or the sweaty squared circle with Luchadores. They’ve brought this to life everywhere from Coachella to Bonnaroo. # # #
