Post Malone, Slash & Duff from GN’R, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and producer Andrew Watt performed a tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne at this past weekend’s Grammy Awards.
The group played a cover of the Black Sabbath song “War Pigs” to honor the life and legacy of Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness and beloved Sabbath frontman who died last year at the age of 76.
Ozzy’s family watched from the front row and were clearly emotionally moved by the tribute.
Post Malone worked with Ozzy on the single “Take What You Want” back in 2019. This track eventually appeared on Ozzy’s 202 album “Ordinary Man” which was produced by Andrew Watt. Duff McKagan, Slash and Chad Smith also contributed performances on this album. Andrew Watt also worked on Ozzy’s final solo album 2022’s “Patient Number 9”
The Ozzy tribute was part of the annual “In Memoriam” segment at this year’s 2026 Grammy Awards. In addition to Ozzy the Recording Academy also paid tribute paid tribute to artists Brett James, Alan Bergman, Sheila Jordan, Roy Ayers, Jimmy Cliff, Malcolm Jamal-Warner, Chuck Mangione and more.
The 2026 Grammys were hosted by Trevor Noah and broadcast live on the CBS. The broadcast is now available to stream on demand on Paramount+.
