Southampton-based metalcore band Our Hollow, Our Home recently joined forces with Arising Empire and have just released their second single “Idlewaves.” Watch the video here. “‘Idlewaves’ showcases the heavier side of Our Hollow, Our Home’s eclectic yet balanced contrast of sounds, combining a wide array of blistering breakdowns and technical guitar work with a classic, infectious sing-along chorus, of which fans of the band have grown accustomed to,” says vocalist Connor Hallisey. “The track shows no signs of letting up from the onset, relentless and hard-hitting from the moment it begins to play. The song is laden with aggression and lyrically tackles numerous topics that ultimately centre around the frustrations felt towards a close one who refuses to change their ways after a long string of poorly made decisions and ineffable mistakes.” OH, OH have toured with Asking Alexandria and Blessthefall, and enjoyed high-profile slots at festivals such as Graspop, Nova Rock, Summerblast, and Jera On Air. The band was boosted by a hugely popular cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” back in 2017, which was picked up by BBC Radio One’s Greg James. It subsequently topped the iTunes UK rock and metal chart, and racked up over 300,000 plays on YouTube during its first week of release.
For a band that has handled its own operations internally, without the help of major label or industry backing until now, these are impressive stats. But it’s more than just the numbers. It’s the way in which people and fans have connected with the band. OUR HOLLOW, OUR HOME ARE:
