Austin, Texas-based noise rock trio DINING WITH DOGS – formed by current and former members of The Dead See, BLK OPS, and more – will release their debut LP, The Problem With Friends, next week. DINING WITH DOGS sees The Dead See guitarist/vocalist Mark Key (also of BLK OPS) and drummer Josh Paul joined by bassist Marcos Morales (music video director for Today Is The Day, Primitive Man, Inter Arma). Featuring ten bruising tracks which bend scathing noise rock influences to the gnarled low-end of crushing doom metal, the band’s maiden full-length album The Problem With Friends was recorded in Austin with Craig Delony, who contributed additional synth tracks to the process. The record was mixed by Brendan Tobin (Red Sparrowes, Made Out Of Babies), mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Integrity, Primitive Man, From Ashes Rise), and completed with artwork by Josh Paul. The LP will be released on a newly formed branch of Morales’ Dirt City Studios. The band has released a video for the first single, “Spreading Thin,” which documents the recording process of the crushing album being laid out in the studio. Separate from the new album, DINING WITH DOGS also recently recorded a cover of Today Is The Day’s “The Kick Inside” which features TITD’s frontman Steve Austin on vocals, the track recorded on Friday the 13th of this March, the last night before the COVID-19 impact ended the tour.
