While most bands were crushed by the devastating impact Covid-19 had on the music industry, DETACHMENT brushed themselves off and got back to the studio to record their most successful song, “Work Horse”. After releasing their debut EP Gaslight in January of 2020, and hitting Top 10 on radio charts with bands such as Suicide Silence, Code Orange, and even Ozzy Osbourne, the future looked bright for the young hardcore band from Long Island NY. Unfortunately, their April tour to promote the EP was cancelled and they were left show-less with nothing to do but write and record. DETACHMENT entered Westfall Studios, home to bands like Moon Tooth and Johnny Booth to record their crushing single, “Work Horse”, a song specifically about overcoming what life throws at you. To date, “Work Horse” has been streamed more than 65,000 times and the previous single, “Counter Charisma”, has had 45,000 streams.

After entering the studio once again in August 2021, DETACHMENT now delivers another brutal, yet technical, offering with “Back Breaker”  the second pummeling single off their upcoming 2022 full length. DETACHMENT’s vocalist Rob Folan states ” “This song is a journey from full on anger and aggression in the verses to the more sensible and serene chorus. Either a blend or a juxtaposition of modern metal and old school hardcore. This song demonstrates different pieces that compose the totality of DETACHMENT. This song is more than anything about self respect, not carrying the weight of other’s expectations. and self improvement and realization,”

Metalcore band DETACHMENT has been on the NY scene since 2017, has played gigs with SWORN IN and CANE HILL, and has released several singles and a 7 track EP, Gaslight.
