Rare Bird Lit Publishes Paperback Version of “Professional Music Fan” LOU BRUTUS’ Music Memoir, SONIC WARRIOR: My Life as a Rock N Roll Reprobate

LOU BRUTUS Celebrates 25th Anniversary as Host of Groundbreaking Hard Rock Program HARDDRIVE WITH LOU BRUTUS + Hosts Rock Fest Wisconsin in July

Nationally syndicated radio legend Lou Brutus has a trio of accomplishments to celebrate in this Summer of 2021.

His hysterical music memoir SONIC WARRIOR: My Life as a Rock N Roll Reprobate (Tales of Sex, Drugs and Vomiting at Inopportune Moments) is sold out in hardback, so publisher Rare Bird Lit of Los Angeles has announced a paperback edition available as of July 13. Pre-orders are on sale now thru Amazon, Barnes & Noble or wherever you buy books. It’s also available in all formats as an eBook or audiobook narrated by Brutus himself.

The book features a Foreword by Corey Taylor and original illustrations by Alan MacBain. It contains hilarious, but true stories from Brutus’ long career in music media. Chapter titles include “The Time Our Tour Bus Ran Over a Guy On the New Jersey Turnpike,” “The Time Snoop Dogg Got Me So High I Drooled in My Own Lap” and “The Time I Went to the Arctic and Got in a Mosh Pit with a Bunch of Kids in Polar Bear Fur While Metallica Sang About Sodomizing a Goat.”

Brutus will make his first in-person signings for the book at Rock Fest in Wisconsin. This will be his fifth year as the long-running festival’s stage host. He’ll also be conducting interviews backstage and be in the pit as photographer. Brutus will soon be announcing further book tour appearances for fall and winter as he makes up time lost to the pandemic. Headliners for the festival include Korn, Rob Zombie, Staind and Limp Bizkit. Rock Fest runs from July 15 through 17 with a special preshow party on the July 14. Brutus will be doing book signings each day along with his numerous other duties as host.

Lou Brutus is best known for his twenty-five years of national syndication hosting hardDrive and hardDriveXL, currently heard on over 100 radio stations in the United States and Europe, as well as his work on other national media platforms. On the 4th of July of this year, he celebrates the 25th anniversary of the debut of hardDrive with Lou Brutus around the country. It was the first place across the USA that radio listeners heard the likes of Slipknot, Disturbed, Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Sevendust, Halestorm and a horde of other hard rock and heavy metal legends.

Of the anniversary, Brutus says, “I can’t quite wrap my pea-sized intellect around the fact I’ve been doing this for twenty-five years. It doesn’t seem that long at all. I suppose I’ve been so busy with deadlines and travel the whole time that the entire quarter century flew right by. Along with the incredible team we have behind the scenes, I’m indebted to the countless artists who have given of their time, but my deepest gratitude goes to the listeners and music fans who have supported this music for so long. Without the fans, there ain’t shit. And that is a fact.”

hardDrive with Lou Brutus and its five-hour-a-night, five-nights-a-week counterpart hardDrive XL with Lou Brutus are both syndicated by United Stations Radio Networks.

Brutus is also lead singer for the bands Grumpy Old Punks and Dead Schembechlers, and a noted photographer. He is a five-time winner as Nationally Syndicated Host of the Year at the prestigious Rock Radio Awards in Las Vegas among numerous other awards and accolades.

Lou Brutus is currently working on two more books. One is a coffee table book of his massive, first-hand concert memorabilia collection entitled One Man – Three Thousand Concerts: The Greatest F*cking Collection of Rock Show Sh*t in History. The second is a follow up to SONIC WARRIOR: My Life as a Rock and Roll Reprobate – Tales of Sex, Drugs, and Vomiting At Inopportune Moments. Interested parties will please note that D4EO Literary Agency represents him in the book world.
