Los Angeles based Industrial Metal band DAWN OF ASHES has revealed the hotly anticipated, intensely graphic official music video for their single, “EMDR.” Fully NSFW, featuring unsettling imagery as analogies for the wholly encompassing and often contradictory experiences of severe trauma sufferers, “EMDR” is not for the feint of heart, but serves as a uniquely explicit insight into a mind struggling to achieve balance and recognition beyond suffering. Originally premiered with METALSUCKS, “EMDR” is the first single off of the band’s recently released and heavily praised new LP, Scars of the Broken, which is available to purchase (physical and digital) and stream online via ARTOFFACT RECORDS.

“The story behind the music video ‘EMDR’ is about a trauma victim who experiences EMDR therapy. She slips into a nightmare and is being tormented in sexual and disturbing ways by a trauma spirit. In the end she becomes possessed by the spirit and ends up becoming what she fears the most.” – KRISTOF BATHORY

“Dawn of Ashes keep bucking expectations as they go, never settling into one niche but instead straddling them all, and making some of them feel very uncomfortable about being straddled…It fits well with the band’s lack of overly-traditional sounds and images; combining what one loves about dark extreme metal with contemporary topics in a disturbing way.” – METALSUCKS

Advance Praise for Scars of the Broken

“Dawn of Ashes certainly has made the move of the Phoenix, rising and evolving in spectacular fashion as a band. Through dark tones and cathartic lyrics, the album has successfully captured the darkness of a mind haunted by depression and loneliness that is sure to connect with an audience lost in the doldrums.” – HEAVY Magazine

“The nature of the songs has become highly cinematic, especially in the narrative and storytelling aspects. This is where the power of Scars Of The Broken lies: the construction of a horrendous post-apocalyptic image in the listener’s mental background.” – Metal Temple

“Each song that has been put into the album is carved into perfection so that it fits well into the album.” – Metalheads Forever

“For those who are looking for an album to look forward to this year, this would be one them. “Scars of the Broken” is refreshing yet nostalgic at the same time. Even one listen of the entire album will have the individual wanting to put it on repeat.” – Music Takeover “Musically and lyrically this is a powerful album. The ebbs and flow of the music are amazingly timed with the poignant lyrics. Kristof said he poured out every darkest and deepest emotion into every song. It shows.” – All Music Magazine

Scars Of The Broken is not to be missed, an album with the capacity to ignite the dying flame inside of you and act as a balm for anyone who feels broken in this life.” – Laura Slominski – OriginalRock.net

“Overall, this album is a magnificent piece of art from Dawn Of Ashes and is a must listen if you are into Dark Cyber Industrial Metal.” – Jacob Dillon – Rock At Night
